SCANDAL
Существительные scandal и скандал совпадают только в значении 'дебош, происшествие, нарушающее порядок или позорящее кого-л.': to make a scandal, gross scandal, to give rise to a scandal. Наряду с этим scandal имеет значение 'злословие, сплетни', не свойственное существительному скандал: to talk scandal, to listen to scandal, Sheridan's "School for Scandal".
